Most widely used magnetic material because of its low cost and high coercivity (doesn't lose magnetic power easily).
Use where:
- You need a 'general purpose' magnet
- Cost is a consideration
- Temperature is lower than 250°C
Ferrite magnets are also known as 'ceramic' because they are hard and brittle.
Typical applications:
- Magnetic separation
- DC motors
- Loudspeakers
- Reed switches
- Security systems
