With a magnetic chuck clamping becomes a simple matter of positioning your workpiece then rotating the switching handle through 180°. The workpiece is then ready for milling or grinding in a single pass - no need to move clamps - with 5 face access.
Chuck blocks are used to extend the magnetic flux of a magnetic chuck for more secure workholding (they are not magnetic in themselves). They are used to position more complex shaped workpieces, such as cylinders or blocks with 'cutouts' where it comes into contact with the chuck.
